With the increase in wealth and all the advance in science and technology, the question about stopping aging is becoming more and more a present question. If humans are planning to colonize an other planet, maybe we should slow aging first? Because it will take time (10 years) to reach a habitable planet.

So here is the plan: you are a 35 years old astronaut, you take a spaceship to an habitable planet but it takes 10 years to get there and at 45 years old you start a new life in a new planet, of course you have no intention to return to earth because it will take an other 10 years.

One day the astronaut is gonna certainly get depressed and regret the 10 years wasted, so in this situation, the question about a way to slow aging is legitimate.

The senior population has it's specific needs, in some countries there's an increase in the aging population, so there is a demand and difficult problems that needs solutions. This post is presenting 4 startups that seeks to solve problems like:

- finding or hiring the right caregiver for a senior,

- help senior maintain a quality of life with brain training,

- providing food for senior with swallowing difficulties,

- slowing the aging by altering lifestyle habits.

The GO BEYOND's 2021 startup accelerator prize winner is OPTIMENS, an innovative startup that wants to measure, monitor and train brain function to maintain high quality of life in the senior population.

On the 11 June 2021, FUTURE FOOD ASIA published a press release announcing SENIOR DELI as a co-winner of 2021 award with $100k prize. SENIOR DELI has developed proprietary food engineering technologies to produce leading products including thickener & pre-packed soft meals for the elderly and those who have dysphagia.

Yeo Shu Hui published an article the 24 Feb 2021 in straitstimes.com announcing Mr Michael Lim as the winner of FOUNDER IGNITE organised the 23 Feb 2021 by ENTREPRISE SINGAPORE, Mr Lim is developing a platform to address the soft foods need for the elderly.

According to the DEPARTMENT OF STATISTICS SINGAPORE the proportion of elderly residents (65 years and over) among resident population represent 15.2% in 2020.
